Following the Brundtland Report, sustainable development economic growth model has been investigated and decoupling was identified by the United Nations. This model leads to the evolution from 2000 millennium development goals (MDGs) to the 2030 sustainable development goals (SDGs). United Nations created in 2007 the International Resource Panel (IRP) to study, report, and provide policy options to close the academic, scientific, and policy gaps on resource efficiency and management issues globally. This talk is divided into two parts, the first component assessed the current resource scenario; while part two works on national cases of successes or identifying barriers. Business models may take stock from these cases and mobilize its corporate resources to deal with the constraints, strength, weakness, opportunities, and threats.
