Super-resolution Optical Microscopy: Development and Application in Nano-catalysis

Abstract:

 

For more than a century, the spatial resolution of light microscopy was thought to be fundamentally limited by Abbe's theory. With the continuous efforts of many microscopists, the era of super-resolution in light microscopy has arisen in many ways at once. High-resolution approaches come in various flavors, and each has specific advantages or disadvantages. Furthermore, besides the numerous breakthroughs have already been achieved in biology and medicine, super-resolution optical imaging start to gain momentum in investigations of heterogeneous and homogeneous chemical reactions at the single-molecule level, which will be focused here.
