SESE Signs Agreement to Join the IIES

On April 6, Dr. Robert Douglas Evans, professor of Trent University, Canada, also director of International Institute for Environmental Studies (IIES), Professor Gu Cheng, vice dean of School of Environment, Nanjing University, pay a visit to School of Environmental Science and Engineering of SJTU. Professor Geng Yong, dean of SESE, warmly received the visitors. The two parties held cordial and friendly talks and signed a Membership Agreement with the International Institute for Environmental Studies.

The faculty from SESE have academic discussion with professor Evans and show their interests in cooperation with the researchers from IIES.

The International Institute for Environmental Studies (IIES) was found in October 2015. It is to become a global leader in research and policy to address significant environmental problems with increasingly international dimensions. The members of the IIES are all leaders in the field of environmental science and policy, including ETH Zurich, Finnish Meteorological Institute, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Johns Hopkins University, Keele University, Nanjing University, National University of Singapore, Norwegian Institute for Water Research, Trent University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Simon Fraser University, Sun Yat-Sen University, University of Eastern Finland, University of Edinburgh, University of Florida and Université de Montréal.
