Webinar title: Microscopic Analysis of Biofilm Formation Process

Speaker: Prof. Liu Xianwei

Time: Oct 27, 2024 (Sunday) 14:00

Venue: Room 200, New Environmental Building

Inviter: Sheng Nan, Dai Jiayin

Abstract:

Biofilm is a kind of microbial aggregation formed by microbial aggregates encapsulated by microbial extracellular polymers. Understanding the process of biofilm formation can not only help us understand the function of biofilm, but also encourage us to develop biofilm regulation methods, which can improve the efficiency of wastewater treatment processes. The report describes the research progress related to biofilm formation, metabolism and water quality warning from the aspects of analytical methods, instrument development and mechanism analysis.
