Webinar title: Efficient Biogas Utilization and Upgrading Towards Sustainable Wastewater Treatment and Circular Bioeconomy

Speaker: Jianhua Guo

Time: 2:00 PM, July 13, 2025 (Sunday)

Venue: Room 200, New Environmental Building

Inviter: Nanwen Zhu

Abstract:

Climate change and rapid population growth have stimulated the development of carbon recycling technologies for sustainable production of energy and chemicals. Biogas produced from anaerobic digestion and liquid chemicals production from CO2 fermentation are two promising solutions in this context. We aim to develop innovative biotechnologies to achieve biological CO2 conversion for energy and biochemical production. This talk will focus on effective gas fermentation technologies, supported by novel microbial cultures, novel gas delivery materials, and novel bioreactor design, that convert syngas, flue gas and biogas, to the targeted products.
