19 December 2021, the 6th Shanghai Postgraduate Environmental Forum was successfully held, with over 200 students from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University and other relevant departments of Shanghai universities participating through a combination of online and offline methods.

Wu Dan, Deputy Director of SJTU Council, said that the forum is an important platform for postgraduate students in environmental studies to carry out academic exchanges, enhance their innovative awareness, stimulate their innovative thinking and improve their innovative ability, and it is also a reflection and practice for young students in Shanghai to contribute to the realization of the strategy of double carbon target and the construction of ecological civilization.

Wu Minghong, Vice President of Shanghai University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Zhang Jun, Chair Professor of SJTU, delivered keynote presentations on "Construction of Environmental Functional Materials System and its Application in Reducing Pollution and Carbon from the Perspective of Dual Carbon Strategy" and "Shanghai Birth Cohort" respectively.

During the forum,seventy-four postgraduates shared their research results and the significance of their chosen topics, research methods and academic achievements.
