On December 17, 2022, the 5th Forum for Young Scholars on Environmental and Sustainable Development was successfully held. This forum invites young scholars from top universities and research institutions to participate in and conduct academic exchanges.

Dean Geng Yong gave a welcome speech and introduced the school to the scholars. At the same time, he sincerely welcomed all the young scholars to join Shanghai Jiao Tong University and encouraged the participating scholars to actively apply for various jobs in the school. To make new and greater contributions to their respective academic fields.

During the forum, 11 young scholars from the world's top universities and research institutions gave wonderful academic reports from different research directions, detailing their many cutting-edge research and latest achievements in the field of environmental science. The atmosphere of the academic presentation was warm, and the participants had full discussions and exchanges.

Secretary Hu Weiwei made a concluding speech. She expressed her gratitude to all the young scholars for their active participation and excellent reports, professors and experts for their careful comments, and staff for their hard work. She pointed out that the forum was rich in content, focused on different topics in the environmental field, closely related to the current frontier hot spots, and in line with the research direction of the school. She expressed the hope that the school could continue to maintain good exchanges with all the young scholars after the meeting and hoped young scholars can join the big family of SESE in the future.
